Italian Sausage Ravioli with Aurora Sauce

Treat yourself to a comforting Italian-inspired dish that's ready in just 20 minutes! This flavorful recipe features tender Nuovo Pasta Italian Sausage and Mozzarella Ravioli smothered in a creamy Aurora sauce—a blend of heavy cream and Italian diced tomatoes, enriched with butter-sautéed shallots and fresh basil. The sauce is luxuriously smooth, perfectly complementing the hearty ravioli. Finish it off with a generous sprinkle of Pecorino Romano for a touch of savory elegance.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pack (9 oz.) Nuovo Pasta Italian Sausage and Mozzarella Ravioli 
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Shallot, chopped 
  • ½ Cup Heavy cream 
  • 1 Small (14 oz) can Italian diced tomatoes
  • Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Basil, chopped or sliced
  • 2 Tbsp Pecorino Romano, grated

Directions

  1. Place butter and shallots in a small saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until shallots are soft and golden
  2. Add cream and diced tomatoes
  3. Bring to a simmer, stir well, and cook for 10 more minutes over low heat until sauce has thickened
  4. Add chopped basil and season with salt and pepper to taste
  5. Cook ravioli separately in salted boiling water according to package directions
  6. Pour half of the sauce onto a serving platter
  7. Drain ravioli and place on top 
  8. Spoon the rest of the sauce over the ravioli and sprinkle with Pecorino Romano. Enjoy!
